James Thompson is a Professor of Applied Theatre at the University of Manchester, UK. In 2022, James published the book Care Aesthetics: For Artful care and careful art with Routledge, and in it, he unpacks the complex question of what it means to know beautiful care when you see or experience it. He has published and taught widely about the aesthetics and ethics of care.
