Indeed! I was watching (Star Wars) A New Hope with my eight-year-old the other day, and it occurred to me that having robots that could translate different languages and talk like a human might not be that far-fetched after all. I imagine by the time he's my age, Star Wars will seem awfully quaint.
Hi Dave. I understand the need people have to feel like there's still space for them in the 'real world'. But I don't think many realise that language models won't always be accessed through a chatbot in a browser. One day they'll be built into robots, like this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMLPhk6b0gA). And then ChatGPT *will* finish buildings.
