You may have seen from the Conference Handbook that we’ve pencilled in a social get-together after the first day of the conference.
We wanted to do something away from the conference itself and didn’t want anything formal.
Wednesday is Valentine’s Day, so town will be lousy with lovers. And we assumed a lot of people will be travelling on after the end of the conference on Thursday. So Tuesday night made the most sense.
We wanted somewhere accessible and informal, and after some hefty research from Kate Waterworth (a vital cog in the Ground Force machine), we settled on Brew on Quay, a pub downtown.
This is very much an optional thing and many of you will already have other plans, but those who fancy having a beer after the opening day would be most welcome to join us.
There’s lots of food nearby, and we may also decamp to the lovely Viaduct Harbour later if the weather is fine and we don’t have to be in bed by 8.
Thanks Dave: do we need to reserve and let you know if we are coming to pub?
